There is a Real Risk
Being a teen that has grown up living with an alcoholic and drug abusive parent; and then learning how to cope with divorce, eviction, and homelessness, I believe that children don't have the proper resources to reach out when they need help. This can lead to becoming anti-social, and being diagnosed with anxiety or depression. Children feel alone in these situations, or sometimes even feel like it was their fault -- when in reality it is just our parents. Kids need an outlet during these hard times that isn't necessarily an adult or professional.
That is where my company, Growing Together, comes in to help.

Growing Together
Being raised in a society where everyone is 'perfect' is hard, especially when you know your life is far from perfect. Growing Together is a children-to-teen book series that breaks the boundaries of topics that are shied away from all too often. With the help of psychology, mentors, and real life experience, Growing Together was written to help children and teens to not feel alone.
